RSS by Renad AlKhatib

RSS it was known as a “Rich Site Summary”, but nowadays it is well-known as a “Really Simple Syndication”. On the other hand RSS (noun) is an XML format or type for distributing news headlines on the web. XML is internet coding language which RSS is written of it.

RSS is a free service that provides you with latest headlines of news, event, blogs, forums, or website content on your home page or on preference page without opening hundred of pages, so it saves time and effort for you.

You can read RSS from two ways:
*From the browser which you use if it supports this service, like Firefox, Internet explorer 7, Netscape Navigator 0.9.

*The other way is to get a copy of the so-called news reader program (News Reader), which can read and display news received via RSS feeds from sites you have chosen.

We can find feeds through looking for icons on page, or from looking for icons in browser location bar.

For sharing in RSS service click on the RSS icon in the address bar in your browser, or in the left menu of the site, it will lead you to a page with many options for participation. Some browsers have created to be used by the reader as soon as you are automatically subscribed. It is better to copy the link, right click and then paste it into the "Add Feed" options for the reader, and then you will receive updated news once you click on the RSS sign.

RSS offers us reading news or feeds from multiple websites in one location. Also bloggers use RSS to distribute summaries of their blog entries as well; moreover it solves the SPAM problem. In addition, RSS allows content to syndicate or republished on other websites, this is how Google and Yahoo News work does.

The purposes of RSS are:
1.      Information updated in real-time.
2.       Much information you get in one place.
3.       Categorizing information as a theme.

To create RSS feeds you have two ways, you can create it from using desktop software by using FeedForAll, which allows users quickly and easily create edit and publish RSS feeds.
Another way to create RSS is through Text editor, this is the complex way, by using XML language, there are items and every item include a title, description, and link.

RSS is a most powerful and modern way or tool in internet publishing today, it is a simple way for saving time and effort, also it provides us to read any updated news we want from any website on our favorite page in one location.
